About William Gerke
I am a published author of fantasy fiction. Born and raised in Minnesota, I lived in New York City for many years. I have worked in a suburban basement, in downtown office buildings, and on an aircraft carrier. When I’m not busy being a good corporate citizen, I read, run, and write. I currently live in Boston with my lovely, wonderful, and patient fiancée and the obligatory cat.
About Work in Progress
There are many fine blogs on the internet by talented authors who discuss fiction, writing, and the writing of fiction. Most, however, are written by folks who have made the leap to full-time writing, and they do not always address the concerns of someone who is balancing a (more than) full time job and active social life with a second job as a writer.
Thus, Work in Progress was born. It has two purposes:
- To serve as a public venue for me to post my progress with various writing projects, in the hopes that public accountability will keep me on track.
- To serve as a forum for asking questions and sharing ideas on how to balance work, life, and writing in a world where each of these elements demands a full share of one’s time.
I am committed to posting on a weekly basis and to sharing as much as I can about my journey, so that others can learn when I stumble and when I stride.
